The Location

Built for the Kirkpatrick family, who are famously linked to the murder of Red Comyn by Robert the Bruce in 1306, the oldest part of Closeburn Castle is believed to date back to the late 14th century. It remained in the hands of the Kirkpatrick family until the 18th century when it was sold to other private owners. Throughout its history, the castle has seen various renovations and restorations to adapt to changing times and requirements. The castle is now once again owned by the Kirkpatrick family.

Paranormal Activity

The castle is reputedly haunted by a mysterious Lady in Black, along with the spirit of a man and another woman, possibly former residents or staff at the property.
